MUSICAL ALPHABET

You have been using numbers mostly while playing your notes … 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. However, each white key on your keyboard is actually named for the first seven letters of the alphabet … C, D, E, F, G, A, B.

Looking at the diagram, our RIGHT HAND numbering will now be replaced with the musical alphabet letters, as follows:

THUMB          ----- C

POINT FINGER ----- D

MIDDLE FINGER ----- E

RING FINGER ----- F

LITTLE FINGER ----- G

And, with your LEFT HAND, the designated letters are:

THUMB          ----- G

POINT FINGER ----- F

MIDDLE FINGER ----- E

RING FINGER ----- D

LITTLE FINGER ----- C
